Fairhaven, Massachusetts – A tragic head-on collision on the New Bedford-Fairhaven Bridge late Thursday night has claimed the life of 28-year-old Mason Evich, a beloved resident of Fairhaven.
Massachusetts State Police reported that troopers responded to the scene at approximately 10:45 p.m. on February 20, 2025, following a distress call about the crash.
According to the investigation, a vehicle traveling west on Route 6 in New Bedford crossed the double yellow line, colliding head-on with Mason Evich’s car, which was traveling in the opposite direction.
Mason was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver involved in the crash sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Tributes to Mason have been pouring in from friends and family, who remember him as a kind-hearted and hardworking individual.
One friend, Leonore Gonsalves, wrote, "So very sad…," while Patricia Tobia Akins shared, "So sad Bryce. Sorry to see this."
As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.
Mason’s untimely passing has left the Fairhaven community in shock, as loved ones continue to grieve.
