New York and Amsterdam – Young Cole M. Sevigny, 26, from Hudson, New Hampshire, died in a terrible car accident on Interstate 90 on February 19, 2025.
According to the New York State Police, there was a head-on crash in the westbound lanes of I-90 near Amsterdam at 8:44 p.m.
The accident happened because Veronica Armbruster, 59, of Selkirk, New York, was going east in the wrong direction. Cole M. Sevigny’s car and hers crashed into each other.
Neither driver could get out of their wrecked cars because they were both trapped inside. They were rushed to nearby hospitals, but Sevigny was tragically pronounced dead at Saint Mary’s Hospital.
The other driver, Armbruster, is still in critical but stable condition at Albany Medical Center.
The accident shut down the westbound lanes of I-90 for six hours while the police looked into what happened and tried to figure out what happened.
Families, friends, and people in the community are sad about the death of a young person who died far too soon because of this terrible event.
